DIRECT MAILING FROM THE BISHOP
Coming up in mid-June, the third annual “Prayer Intention Card” mailing from the Bishop’s Office will be direct-mailed to all registered households. Helping to fulfill one of his primary obligations, to pray for the people of the Diocese of Marquette, Bishop John Doerfler invites parishioners to send personal prayer requests. Returned prayer cards are kept in his chapel, where he will pray for the intentions for the next year. Please encourage your parishioners to respond. A bulletin announcement is attached for your convenience.

NEW SAFE ENVIRONMENT POLICY FOR THE DIOCESE OF MARQUETTE
After consultation with the Presbyteral Council and the Independent Review Board for the Diocese of Marquette, Bishop John Doerfler has decreed that the updated Safe Environment Policy shall succeed all former policies as of May 1, 2016.
Please read carefully this updated policy and make it available to all persons as described on page 9 of the policy, and to anyone else who may have interest in it or who may enable safer ministerial environments because of their reading and understanding of it. This updated Safe Environment Policy can be accessed on the diocesan website by going to the Administration link and then clicking on Policy Manuals.

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Training for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is being held from August 22- August 27th at Holy Name School in Escanaba from 9 am – 4:30 pm. Each day will begin with Mass at 8 am at St. Anne’s. DIOCESAN EVANGLIZATION SUMMIT
On Saturday, August 27 the Diocese of Marquette will be hosting a Diocesan Evangelization Summit at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette. All the Catholic faithful and particularly ecclesial movements from across the diocese such as the Knights of Columbus, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Third Order Secular Carmelites, and others are invited to come be renewed in their zeal to evangelize and learn new strategies to do so at this event. Fr. Ryan Moravitz of the Diocese of Duluth will lead us in reflecting on the ways we are able to proclaim, celebrate, and live Jesus Christ who is alive in the gospel and alive in the Church today! 2016 PAR (Parish Annual Report)
This year’s Parish Annual Report is moving online! A comprehensive online form has been developed and can be found on the Diocesan website under the Administration, Offices, Administration and Finance, PAR section. PAR submissions are due to the Diocese by July 31, 2016 and must include Balance Sheet and Income Statement attachments. We strongly encourage parishes to utilize this online form to promote a more efficient reporting system. For your convenience, hard copies of the PAR and the PAR Checklist can also be found in Addendum #3 and Addendum #4, as well as on the Diocesan website. The Governance Report is due September 30, 2016 and has been included in Addendum #5. The 2016 Legacy of Faith Catholic Service Award recipients are Deacon John Cadeau of Most Holy Name of Jesus/Blessed Kateri, Baraga and Janet Pattan of St. Joseph, Perkins. Recipients will be honored at their home parish over the summer. Each parish also receives a $250 LOF grant for faith formation in honor of the recipient.
