DECEMBER 8TH IS A HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION
The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Patronal Feast Day of the United States of America) falls on a Friday in 2017 and, of course, is celebrated as a Solemnity.
CHRISTMAS EVE MASS SCHEDULING
We have received some inquiries regarding the scheduling of Masses for the Fourth Sunday of Advent and Christmas Eve, since Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year. Priests can celebrate Mass three times on Sundays and Holy Days so parishes may need to make adjustments to their schedule for December 24 or make arrangements for other priests to help out. The faithful have Mass obligations for the Sunday and for Christmas. These obligations have to be fulfilled at two separate Masses.

Please be aware the maximum contribution per individual is $18,000, unless the employee is age 50 or over. Members over 50 years of age are allowed an additional "catch-up" contribution of $6,000. Since there still are several months left in 2017, it is a good time to evaluate your individual contributions to your 403(b) plan. Are you maximizing the amount you can contribute? Are you sure you will not exceed the maximum contribution amount by year end? If you have questions, please feel free to contact Irene at firstname.lastname@example.org or 800-562-9745, Ext. 135.
LOOKING AHEAD--MAXIMUM CONTRIBUTIONS FOR 2018

TRIBUTE GIFTS ARE "IN SEASON"
This season, make your gift giving more meaningful with a tribute gift.
Not sure what to get Mom, who never misses Mass, or Uncle Joe, who sings with the church choir, for Christmas this year? They really don’t need anything, or want anything. But…it is the season of giving. What to do?
Possibilities….Acknowledge and honor their faith with a unique tribute gift in their honor. Give Mom a special handwritten note that says thank you for passing on the Catholic faith you, and let her know you made a donation to the church to honor her. Feel gratitude when you see that smile on Uncle Joe’s face when he learns that you made a donation to benefit his church choir. These gifts will mean more to them than one more sweater or neck tie for their closet.
This Advent and Christmas, donate to the Church in honor of someone special. A unique way to acknowledge that extraordinary individual in your life, and help the Church at the same time.
