RELIGIOUS FREEDOM WEEK 2018
Serving Others in God’s Love: Religious Freedom Week 2018 will take place from June 22 to 29, 2018. During Religious Freedom Week, Catholics are encouraged to pray and act each day for religious freedom. The Pray-Reflect-Act-series aims to help Catholics get involved in promoting religious liberty as the space necessary to serve others in God’s love.

It is not too late to register for the choir that is being formed for the Diocesan Hymn Festival as part of the Inaugural Year of the Cathedral Concert Series. Marking the upcoming release of the Diocesan Hymnal, the Diocese will offer a Hymn Festival, celebrating the joy of hymn singing. There is nothing quite like the experience of hundreds of voices joined together in song, singing music of the Church’s past and present! It will be led by the Cathedral and Diocesan Choirs, and will feature a wide variety of hymns and songs that will be in the Diocesan Hymnal. Please mark your calendars now to attend a special Retirement Workshop held on July 19th, 2018 at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette! 2018 PARISH ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT (PAFR)
The 2018 Parish Annual Financial Report will be available online on the Diocesan website at dioceseofmarquette.org/pafr on May 15th, 2018. PAFR submissions will be due to the Diocese by July 31, 2018 and must include a Statement of Financial Position/Balance Sheet and Statement of Revenue & Expense/Income Statement attachment for each parish submission. WORLD CHURCH COMBINED COLLECTION – JUNE 9/10TH, 2018
All parishes in the Diocese of Marquette will be taking up the 2018 World Church Collection on June 9/10th, 2018. The World Church Collection supports the following outreach ministries to the Universal Church: the Catholic Relief Services Overseas Fund, the Holy Land & National Communications collection, and the Peter’s Pence collection (Collection for the Holy Father). Parish bookkeepers are advised to divide unspecified World Church fund donations evenly between the three individual collections using the Collection Counting Sheet. Bookkeepers may then complete their Combined Collection Transmittal forms to include with their payment to the Diocese. These collection resources can be found at dioceseofmarquette.org/administrativepolicies. Please make checks out to “Diocese of Marquette-World Church Collection.”

CATHOLIC SCHOOL ENDOWMENT CHALLENGE
A new endowment challenge invites all nine Catholic schools to grow endowment funds in the U.P. Catholic Foundation. The challenge for each school to raise money to receive a $100,000 gift from the diocese will help to incentivize major gifts for endowment growth for the long term.
