Dustin Larson to be ordained to the diaconate
Bishop John Doerfler will ordain Dustin Larson to the Order of the Deacon (transitional) during a special liturgy on Friday, June 2 at 3:30 p.m. (Eastern) at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette. Everyone is invited to attend the Mass and reception that will follow in the Cathedral hall.
Larson, whose parish community is St. Albert the Great in Houghton, has been studying at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit since the fall of 2011. Larson began his studies at the seminary after earning a master’s degree in computer science from Michigan Technological University in Houghton.
Larson will continue preparing for the priesthood in the year ahead and, God willing, will be ordained to the priesthood next year.
“I hope that through my ministry as a deacon you may come to encounter Jesus in a personal and life-changing way,” stated Larson. “I look forward to being His instrument and sharing His love with all of you. Please pray for me, that I may continue to draw nearer to Jesus and lead many to His merciful grace.”
