How do I become a Catholic?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, commonly known as RCIA, is a period of study and reflection for adults in preparation to be received into the Church during Holy Week each year. While participating in RCIA, candidates and catechumens learn about the Catholic faith, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Candidates are those who are already baptized Christians entering full communion with the Catholic Church. Catechumens will also be baptized into the faith during Holy Week services.

To inquire about RCIA, contact your local parish office. Click here for a listing sortable by name and city.

For more information, visit the RCIA section on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website.
