COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE PLAN
All parishes, missions, and schools were instructed to complete and adopt policies using the COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan template (Addendum #1 and Addendum #2) last month. As a reminder, employers must share COVID-19 Preparedness and Response policies with all employees and require them to sign acknowledgment forms (located on page 20 of the policy template).

Employees are also required to record COVID-19 screening data when working on-site at the office. Please use the Daily Entry Questionnaires included in Addendum #3 and Addendum #4 as template forms for collecting this information. These forms should be maintained at the parish office for contact tracing purposes.

Parishes and schools may elect to use an online template for recording COVID-19 Daily Entry form data through Jotform. This option is an alternative to the paper form, and the use of either method is acceptable for parish/school data collection. Please find instructions for the use of the online template included in Addendum #5. Parishes and schools can find the Online Daily COVID-19 Screening Form linked here and also located at dioceseofmarquette.org/administrativepolicies.

Please also see Addendum #6 for clarifications on the COVID-19 policies and questionnaire. Parishes and schools may also refer to the Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) poster included in Addendum #7 as an additional reference tool. Please contact Tim Thomas at tthomas@dioceseofmarquette.org with any questions regarding the COVID-19 Preparedness and Response plan or screening data collection.

PPP LOAN FORGIVENESS
While many of you are eager to apply for PPP loan forgiveness as soon as possible, we are advising that you wait. At the moment, many lenders are not ready to process the applications, and several are developing tools to make the process more efficient. In addition, if repayment is deemed necessary (for all, or a portion of the loan), payments are not required until 10 months after the covered period.

PARISH & SCHOOLSECRETARY/BOOKKEEPER WORKSHOP THANK YOU
Thank you for attending the first virtual Parish and School Secretary/Bookkeeper Workshop! We hope you found this year's topics informative and interesting. If you attended this workshop and have not already completed the workshop evaluation form (linked here), please do so at your earliest convenience. We are working to add the workshop recording and presentation materials to the Diocesan website as soon as possible and will email all parishes when this information is available.

2020 PARISH GOVERNANCE REPORT
The Governance Report was due to the Diocese September 30, 2020. If your parish has not yet submitted a 2020 report, please send your Parish Governance Report to the Diocese, Attn: Irene McCauley, or imccauley@dioceseofmarquette.org. Access to this report is available on the Diocesan website http://dioceseofmarquette.org/forms and has been included as Addendum #9. Please contact Irene McCauley with any questions at imccauley@dioceseofmarquette.org or at 1-800-562-9745, ext. 135.

403(B) RETIREMENT PLAN MAXIMUM CONTRIBUTIONS
Please be aware the maximum contribution per individual is $19,500 unless the employee is age 50 or over. Members over 50 years of age are allowed an additional "catch-up" contribution of $6,500. Since there still are several months left in 2020, it is a good time to evaluate your individual contributions to your 403(b) plan.  Are you maximizing the amount you can contribute?  Are you sure you will not exceed the maximum contribution amount by year-end?  If you have questions, please feel free to contact Irene at imccauley@dioceseofmarquette.org or 800-562-9745, Ext. 135.

LOOKING AHEAD-MAXIMUM CONTRIBUTIONS FOR 2021
The maximum contribution for 2021 remains at $19,500 unless the employee is age 50 or over. Members over 50 years of age will be allowed an additional "catch-up" contribution of $6,000.

MISSIONCOMBINED COLLECTION - JANUARY 9TH-10TH, 2021
All parishes in the Diocese of Marquette will be taking up the 2020 Mission Collection on January 9th-10th, 2021.  The Mission Collection supports the following outreach ministries to the Universal Church: the Black & Indian Missions, Catholic Home Missions, the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa, and the Propagation of the Faith Mission. Parish bookkeepers are advised to use the Collection Counting Sheet (Addendum #10) and to divide unspecified Mission fund donations evenly between the four individual collections. Bookkeepers may then complete the updated Combined Collection Transmittal Form found in Addendum #11 to include with their payment to the Diocese. Please make checks out to "Diocese of Marquette-Mission Collection."

Please see the Bulletin Announcements section for an advertisement that can be placed in your parish bulletins to promote this collection. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter.

#IGIVECATHOLIC ADVANCED GIVING BEGINS IN 1 WEEK
Giving Tuesday is December 1st, but the #iGiveCatholic website opens for early giving on November 16! Online giving is important to the future of our churches and this year, more than ever, Catholics need a seat at the Giving Tuesday table. Invite everyone to the Catholic giving banquet – current & past parishioners, those who received sacraments at your parish but now live away, neighbors and friends. Ride the momentum of national media attention by promoting your parish cause on Facebook, your parish website, email, bulletin announcements, and phone calls. Here’s a creative idea - ask your parish confirmation classes to make an #iGC video! Post your parish progress on social media throughout the giving day. Get people watching your leaderboard.

Use the #IGiveCatholic logo Addendum #12, bulletin insert Addendum #13, Bishop John’s letter of support Addendum #14 and bulletin announcement on the weekends of Nov 21-22 and Nov 28-29.

Note, even if your parish did not register by the Oct 31 deadline, we have created a page for your parish so that your supports can find you.

For assistance, contact Angelina at ajuidici@dioceseofmarquette.org.

CONNECT OFFERTORY GIVING TO PARISH MINISTRY
Parishes are urged by the U.S. Bishops to prepare annual reports of their stewardship to promote an understanding of the relationship between the ministries of the Church and the temporal affairs of the parish. A variety of resources are available on our website, including a list of report components and samples from other parishes in our diocese.

May we share your parish report? Email it to ajuidici@dioceseofmarquette.org.

INCREASED OFFERTORY PROGRAM
Does your parish need to increase its offertory income? Our diocese’s Increased Offertory Manual is a step-by-step guide to a 3-week program that a parish can implement on its own, without paying a professional firm. It includes a customizable brochure, sample letters and commitment card. Contact Terri Gadzinski tgadzinski@dioceseofmarquette.org for assistance.

MISSION COMBINED COLLECTION - JANUARY 9TH-10TH,2021

Black & Indian Missions
The Black and Indian Mission Collection exists to help local African American and Native American diocesan communities throughout the United States spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and respond to real and pressing needs. This collection advances causes important to native and African American Catholics.

Catholic Home Missions
"Home Missions” is the name for dioceses and parishes in the United States, including its territories and former territories, which cannot provide basic pastoral services to Catholics without outside help. Basic pastoral services include Mass and sacraments, religious education, and ministry training for priests, deacons, religious sisters and lay people.

Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa
While the Church in Africa is growing, many still lack access to basic resources and pastoral care. Many suffer due to high rates of poverty and unemployment, illiteracy, and poor education. The Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa supports pastoral projects that foster lasting peace and reconciliation in a continent often marked by division and tension.

Propagation of the Faith
The Society for the Propagation of the Faith is vital to the missionaries serving in 1,150 dioceses throughout Asia, Africa, parts of Latin America and Europe, and on the Islands of the Pacific. Your generosity makes it possible for local priests, religious, and catechists to reach out to communities, families and children in desperate need, bringing the light of Christ to the darkest of circumstances covering more than half the globe.
